Venturers - Activity Photos- page 5
1st Cobargo Airlines now departing - March 2016
Melbourne, Canberra, Hong Kong, Macau, Stockholm and Corfu - all in a days travel for the Cobargo Venturers at the Flight Simulator in Brogo. A big thanks to Rob Kidd for his expertise, guidance and saving us from crashing on many occasions. The simulator is as immersive and realistic as it gets, without the danger of crashing.

Visit to Bega VRA - March 2016
The Venturers attended the Bega branch of the VRA for an evening of education and playing with the "toys". They were told about how the VRA functions in conjunction with other emergency services, as well as how they are funded (mostly fundraising - so please donate to this essential organisation, next time you see them fundraising). The Venturers were given a run-down on how a response to an accident is approached, and how the various tools are used, and then got to practise with the Air Pillow, to raise a car, and the Jaws of life, and Cutters, to remove the doors of a written off car.

Dragon Skin - March 2016
Three of the Cobargo venturers attended Dragon Skin, held at Belanglo State Forest. They Joined 2 teams from the Sydney area for 4 days and 3 night of fun, competition and hiking. They had to carry all their food and equipment with them. One team came in at 94 place, the other, aptly named "Not Carringbah", came in at an 4th place. Considering there were just over 200 teams and close to 1000 competitors, this was a fantastic effort.

SES visit- September 2016
Bega SES hosted Cobargo and Merimbula Venturers for an evening. It was a good opportunity to brush up on our knotting skills. The Venturers learnt about how the SES operates, equipment they use and how they conduct rescues.

Visit to Casuarina - September 2016
Cobargo and Merimbula Venturers visited Casuarina in Bega. They spent the morning with the residents, serving morning tea, and chatting. We were then all entertained by our surprise piano virtouso, Alex from Merimbula Venturers.
